How to Reach Fontaine in Genshin Impact – Waypoint Locations (Map)

Genshin Impact 4.0 update brings the much-awaited Fontaine region to the world of Tevyat. This new area is located in the center of Tevyat and is filled to the brim with plenty of secrets, quests, NPCs, creatures, materials, and more. However, Genshin Impact doesn't allow you to explore any region instantly, and Fontaine is no exception. This guide will show you how to unlock Fontaine in Genshin Impact by completing all the required objectives and steps.

How to get to Fontaine in Genshin Impact

You can reach Fontaine in Genshin Impact 4.0 by following these steps:

1. Complete the Archon Quest Prologue: Act III
2. Head to the Realm of Farakhkert in Sumeru
3. Find the teleport waypoint to Fontaine
4. Board the Aquabus and travel through the Poisson Tunnel
5. Arrive at the Court of Fontaine and explore the new region

Complete the Archon Quest Prologue: Act III

To reach Fontaine, you must complete the Archon Quest Prologue: Act III, “Song of the Dragon and Freedom", which introduces you to Venti, the Anemo Archon, and requires you to fight against Stormterror. To start this quest, visit Jean, who is currently serving as the Acting Grand Master of Mondstadt’s Knights of Favonius. It took me less than two hours to finish this Prologue Act, but you might have already done it, since it’s one of the oldest Archon quests.

Head to the Realm of Farakhkert in Sumeru

The next step towards reaching Fontaine is traveling to the Realm of Farakhkert in Sumeru (slated for the 4.0 update, it's situated near the Girdle of Sands). To enter this realm, make your way to the Chasm, found south of Liyue Harbor. You should have an Adventure Rank of 40 when entering the Realm of Farakhkert.

Find the Teleport Waypoint to Fontaine

Next you must locate a teleport waypoint that will transport you to Fontaine. To do so, look eastward from the desert area within the Realm of Farakhkert (as seen in the map above), but pay attention to the strong creature living inside the cave here. You must be at Adventure Rank 45 to access it.

Board the Aquabus and Travel Through the Poison Tunnel

The teleport waypoint will take you to the Romaritime Harbor, where you can board the aquabus and travel to Fontaine via the Poison Tunnel.

Arrive at the Court of Fontaine and Explore the New Region

After a short cutscene, you will find yourself at the Court of Fontaine (the capital city of Fontaine). You can now leave the aquabus and finally start exploring the new region in Genshin Impact.
