How to take all photos in the Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens event in Genshin Impact

Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens is a Genshin Impact photography event that starts in Inazuma and runs from April 1, 2022, to April 11, 2022. During the event, you need to help the light novel illustrator Asagiri find inspiration to meet her deadlines.

She'll be gradually providing Photo Notes within the duration of the event. Head to the locations marked by a Kamera icon in the World Map and mini-map, and interact with the glowing spot to start taking photos. Keep in mind that you must use the Kamera Gadget.

Legend of the Wind Knight

This prompt is located in front of the Cathedral in Monstadt. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Use any Anemo character as the subject of the photo. The character must be facing the Kamera.
• Zoom out until you see three Photo-Taking Points at the top of the screen.
• Use an Anemo Skill, but make sure that the character is still facing forward while using it.
• While the Anemo Skill is still active, immediately use the Kamera to take a photo.

Legend of the Wind Knight II

This prompt is located in front of the giant tree in Windrise. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Use any character affiliated with the Knights of Favonius as the subject of the photo. That includes Jean, Kaeya, Klee, and Lisa.
• Switch the in-game time to anywhere between 8:00 to 12:00.
• Zoom out until you see two Photo-Taking Points at the top of the screen.
• Take the photo with the Kamera!

Wangshu Inn

This prompt is located on a stone on one of the islets across Wangshu Inn. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Use any character and have them face the Kamera.
• Switch the in-game time to 11:00 to 12:00 or 18:00 to 00:00.
• Zoom out until you see two Photo-Taking Points. Keep in mind that they're vertical this time—you need to include the top of Wangshu Inn in the shot.
• Take a photo with the Kamera!

Schemes Beneath the Dragon's Spine

This prompt is located on a stone south of Guili Plains, which will allow you to take the perfect long-distance shot of Dragonspine. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Position the Kamera to face Dragonspine in the northeast.
• Use any character and have them face Dragonspine.
• Switch the in-game time to anywhere between 11:00 to 14:00.
• Zoom out until you see three Photo-Taking Points.
• Take a photo with the Kamera!

The Proper Use of Thunder, Lightning and Blades

This prompt is located in the Lupus Boreas weekly boss fight area. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Prepare by charging up an Electro character's Elemental Burst. You may need a second as a backup just in case.
• Head to the photography location and zoom out until you see one Photo-Taking Point. The Photo-Taking Point is located on the carved wall in the clearing.
• Use the Electro character's Elemental Burst and immediately snap a shot with the Kamera. Don't wait for the Burst animation to finish, or the photo will fail. This applies even to characters like Raiden Shogun and Fischl, whose Bursts last for a longer period. Only a photo of the casting animation counts.

The Fable of Qingce Village

This prompt is located in Qingce Village. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Change the in-game time to anywhere between 6:00 to 18:00.
• Zoom out until you see three Photo-Taking Points. You may need to angle the camera slightly downward to capture all three.
• Use any character and position them in place. Wait for their idle animation to start playing, and then snap a photo. Keep in mind that you must not move at all for the idle animation to prompt.

Aporia of the Valley

This prompt is located on a cliff west of Dunyu Ruins. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Zoom out until you see three Photo-Taking Points.
• Switch to any catalyst user.
• Perform a Charged Attack while facing the Kamera. Immediately snap a shot as soon as you let go of your hold.

The Rockeater

This prompt is located on the cliff north of Liyue Habor. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Zoom out until you see three Photo-Taking Points.
• Switch to any catalyst user.
• Perform a Normal Attack while facing the Kamera. Immediately snap a shot as soon as you click to attack.

The Rockeater: Ape Cliff

This prompt is located south of Mt. Hulao. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Zoom out until you see two Photo-Taking Points.
• Switch to any Liyue character.
• Perform a Normal Attack while facing the Kamera. Immediately snap a shot as soon as you click to attack.

The Rockeater: Twilight

This prompt is located on the base of Mt. Aocang. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Change the in-game time to anywhere between 16:00 to 18:00.
• Zoom out until you see three Photo-Taking Points.
• Switch to any character and face the Kamera.
• Stay steady and don't move around. Wait for your character to perform an idle animation, then immediately snap a shot while the animation is active.

To the Deep Rock: I

This prompt is located beside the Teleport Waypoint in The Chasm's Maw. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Zoom out until you see one Photo-Taking Point.
• Switch to any Geo character and activate their Elemental Skill. Immediately snap a shot while they're still casting the skill. The photo doesn't count if you take it after the skill has been cast, even if it has a lingering effect, such as a Geo construct.

To the Deep Rock: II

This prompt is located beside the Teleport Waypoint in The Chasm's Tiangong Gorge. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Zoom out until you see two Photo-Taking Points.
• Use any character and start walking and running in any direction, as long as the Photo-Taking Points are still visible. Snap a shot while they're walking or running. Don't pause before taking the photo, or it won't count!

The Seventh Samurai

This prompt is located in Inazuma City. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Switch to a character that uses a polearm or a sword.
• Change the in-game time to anywhere between 19:00 to 00:00.
• Zoom out until you see one Photo-Taking Point.
• Use a Normal or Charged Attack, and immediately snap a shot right after.

The Seven Great Elements

This prompt is located on Amakane Island. Follow the steps below to snap the right shot:

• Zoom out until you see two Photo-Taking Points.
• Use an Elemental Skill, then immediately take a photo with the Kamera. You must do this while the skill is still being cast.
