How to unlock and complete the Mycological Investigation in The Chasm World Quest in Genshin Impact

There's no such thing as too many mushrooms.

The Mycological Investigation in The Chasm is a quick World Quest that involves collecting Starshrooms from the Underground Mine. To unlock it, you must first complete the third part of The Chasm Delvers World Questline: The Chasm Spelunkers. This will allow you to explore the Underground Mine.

Speak to Khedive, the Sumeru researcher in the base camp. Select the dialogue option So, about those mushrooms... He'll ask you to collect eight Starshrooms.

Starshrooms can be found in three areas:

  • Right pool of the Underground Waterway
  • Middle and right segments of The Glowing Narrows.

Keep in mind that the Underground Mine won't be lit up in the World Map until you progress in The Chasm Delvers. But you can still explore the above locations to collect the mushrooms.

After collecting eight Starshrooms, head back to Khedive and choose the option Here's the mushrooms you asked for. He'll reveal that Starshrooms are of Sumeru origin, but they glow due to an abnormal ecological phenomenon. You'll be rewarded 20 Primogems for your work.
