Th Epitomized Path is a feature unique to the Epitome Invocation, Genshin Impact's rotating weapon banner. This Path allows players to chart a course for one of the two featured five-star weapons, which you're guaranteed to obtain at your third five-star pull.
In the second half of Version 2.2, Genshin Impact brought two coveted five-star picks: Elegy for the End and Staff of Homa. If you can only afford to pull for one of the two, read on to find out which to chart an Epitomized Path for.

Elegy for the End
This five-star bow's primary selling point is its Elemental Recharge substat, which is perfect for Energy hungry characters, combined with an amazing Elemental Mastery passive. This allows the wielder to initiate powerful Elemental Reactions, making it a perfect bow for Support characters.
- Best for: Optimum choice for characters on Support and Sub-DPS builds. These include, but are not limited to, Venti, Kujou Sara, Diona, Ganyu, and possibly Fischl.
- Should you pull: If you're in the end-game and are looking to create high-damage Elemental Reaction builds for difficult content like the Spiral Abyss, then this bow can be a great choice. But if you're still starting out, you might not be able to get the bang for your buck given the great selection of four-star bows.
Staff of Homa
This five-star polearm shines for its HP passive combined with a Crit Damage substat, which any HP scaling character will love—especially those with DPS potential.
- Best for: Best-in-slot pick for Hu Tao and an optimum choice for Shield Supports that can shell out some damage, such as Zhongli and Thoma.
- Should you pull: If you are invested in Hu Tao, this weapon is a no-brainer. If you're using Zhongli or Thoma, they can enjoy alternative polearms, so the Staff of Homa isn't a no-brainer choice for them.
Elegy for the End vs. Staff of Homa
Since the two are different weapon types, you should ultimately choose an Epitomized Path for the character you're currently—or planning to—build.
So if Venti's the next five-star you're building for your team, go for the Elegy for the End. But if you just pulled Hu Tao and plan to make her your Main DPS, you won't regret picking up the Staff of Homa.
Don't forget: Once you've decided which weapon to pull for, select it in the Epitomized Path menu and click Chart Course. If you don't do this, your pulls won't count toward building up Fate Points.
