How to solve the Forbidden Shrine Riddle in Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island

A shrine overlooking the horizon.

The Forbidden Shrine is one of the four new points of interest called Wind Shrines that can be found on Iki Island. Solving the riddles at these shrines will award the player with an armor set based on one of Sony’s franchises. Here is how to solve the Forbidden Shrine Riddle that awards you with armor resembling that of Aloy's from Horizon Zero Dawn.

Where to find the Forbidden Shrine

You can locate the Forbidden Shrine in the northwest region of Iki Island. It can be found in Raider's Promontory, on the island with the monkey sanctuary. The Shrine will feature a mass of arrows and petrified roots around the statue. The arrows are a reference to Aloy's weapon of choice, and the petrified roots signifying the Faro Plague.

Solving the Riddle and getting Aloy's armor

When you have made it to the Forbidden Shrine, you will find a riddle near the base of the shrine. That riddle reads:

The old world is gone

Though life is never-ending.

Focus your spirit

Take up the archer's mantle

A Seeker must aim for truth

The clues to the riddle's answer are found in the third and fourth lines. The third line refers to the player's ability to focus when pushing the touchpad. The fourth line is referring to the famous archer Tadayori and his armor set that can be earned in the base game.

Players will want to equip the Tadayori Armor Set while at the shrine. Then, press the touchpad to focus on the shrine, which reveals three red markers. Players can shoot all three of these red markers to turn them blue and trigger a cutscene. After the cutscene is complete, Jin will be wearing the Sign of the Hunter headband and the Seekers Attire Armor Dye.

So there you have it, that is how you solve the Forbidden Shrine Riddle in Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island. Since this shrine is on Iki Island, players will only be able to acquire this set if they own the Iki Island Expansion.
