A Grand Theft Auto Remaster Trilogy consisting of games from the PlayStation 2 era has been rumored for months now. Kotaku were the ones that reported that the Remaster would include classics like GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas. Kotaku also claimed that Remaster would release on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Switch sometime in November.
It appears now that those rumors may be getting closer to being true after all. Twitter leaker Nibel discovered that a game titled Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition has been given an age rating in Korea. No other information has been detailed about the Remaster, including its release date.
Fans of the GTA series have been clamoring for re-releases for older games for years. GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas are especially much-requested games due to their popularity within the larger gaming community. The remaster would be a great opportunity for old and new fans to re-experience these iconic games again, especially if developers Rockstar add in a lot of quality-of-life improvements to the trilogy.
At this moment, Rockstar Games have been making good money by continuously porting the latest entry of the series, Grand Theft Auto V, onto more current consoles. Speculation and rumors of a potential GTA VI have swirled around, though nothing official has been revealed.
