How to lose the cops in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City – Definitive Edition

You'll never catch Tommy Vercetti, Copper!

If getting yourself into trouble in GTA V is easy, it is arguably even easier to get yourself into trouble in GTA: Vice City! From cops bashing into you in their car, to you accidentally running over a rogue pedestrian, your wanted level won't stay at zero for long!

In more recent Grand Theft Auto games the method is literally to just run and hide as best you can, or find some train tracks to drive on... Cops hate train tracks! But in GTA: Vice City there are a few different things you can do.

What is great about the older games is that they were more arcade-like in a lot of ways. One of these ways is having a designated Star Symbol you can run through which decreases your wanted level. It will only diminish it by one star at a time, but if you're only on one star then you're golden!

The second method is to go to a Pay 'n' Spray or hide in your Garage. If the car disappears or changes color then the cops don't recognize that it is you anymore. This is the case in GTA V as well, except the AI are a lot smarter in the newer GTA than the old ones. So, you can basically go into the garage right in front of them in Vice City!

Of course, there is the option to just run and hide, but why do that when there are actually things you can implement that will get you out of the bad books of the law quicker?
