Halo Infinite is an arena-based FPS game that features many different game modes. Most involve killing your enemies, but some also require teamwork to complete objectives. These game modes are split into two main categories: Arena and Big Team Battle.
Arena game modes feature two teams of four going head to head, except Free For All game modes in which all eight players duke it out. Big Team Battle game modes feature two large teams of twelve in which teamwork is essential to winning. You can see all these game modes below.

Both Quick Play and Ranked will place you into Arena game modes when queuing up for a match, while Big Team Battle will put you in that game mode. There is no way to select a particular game mode within these playlists.
Halo veterans may notice that some game modes such as Swat and Infection are absent. This is likely because Halo Infinite is in beta before its release on Dec. 8. Hopefully, these and other missing game modes will return.
