What is the Halo Infinite Season 5 release date?

Prepare for the reckoning.

Halo Infinite's turn to live service multiplayer ensures 343 Industries keeps the game updated and fresh with new content. One thing noticeably absent was anything related to the Flood, but I'm glad to see Season 5 Reckoning bringing Flood content to Halo Infinite. But you may be wondering when Season 5 of Halo Infinite starts.

When does Halo Infinite Season 5 Reckoning begin?

Season 5 of Halo Infinite begins on October 17, 2023, featuring a new battle pass with Flood-inspired cosmetics and items, new game modes, new maps, new Forge features, and more. Fans are hoping Season 5 will be what brings players back to the game and restore the player base numbers. Curious what Halo Infinite's Season 5 holds? Check out the trailer on the official Halo YouTube.

Extraction Mode

Extraction is returning in Halo Infinite, expanding the modes available in multiplayer. A neutral site will appear where players must enter the site and plant extraction devices; a timer begins counting down, and at zero, the extraction will be successful, that team earns a point, and a new neutral site will appear.

The opposing team can stop the timer and even overturn the extraction device. The match goes back and forth until one team claims victory. Extraction is available in Arena and Ranked modes; check out the mode in the Extraction trailer.

New Maps

Halo Infinite is gaining two new maps in Season 5: Prism and Forbidden. The former is an Arena map set within a Banished Subanese crystal mine, featuring high verticality with low and high points. Crystals dot the caverns and can be shot, causing needles to seek nearby players, possibly killing them.

Forbidden is a symmetrical Arena map set within a temple in a Halo installation. It allows for close and medium-range combat with some verticality. A chute on either side of the map allows players to quickly reach the lower levels.

Flood-inspired cosmetics

The battlepass for Season 5 features a swath of Flood-inspired cosmetics, perfect for Halloween. Players can infect both their Spartan and weapons with the Flood, but in addition, any helmet can finally be equipped to any core. Players can also unlock the Infinite Mark VI Armor Kit by reaching the rank of Hero.

New Forge Features

New PvE features are coming to Halo Infinite's Forge mode in Season 5. The AI toolkit allows you to create your own version of Firefight maps in preparation for the upcoming game mode. Players will have enhanced freedom when creating maps for their friends and the community.
