The surprise release of the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta has been a resounding success, and of course, dataminers are already hard at work finding information on new events in the coming months.
Thanks to Santa Ricky, aka IFireMonkey, on Twitter, we have learned that a new event, "Tactical Ops," could potentially be running from Feb. 8 to Feb. 21, 2022. And the first/only ten ranking rewards have been revealed.
- Claw Patrol (Spartan Pose)
- Challenge Swap
- 250 XP Grant
- Scorpion Punch (Mark VII Armor Coating)
- Mark V ZETA (Helmet)
- Challenge Swap
- 250 XP Grant
- 250 XP Grant
- UA/Mauros (Helmet Attachment)
- Lone Wold (Nameplate Background)
The ranking cap and the playlist is unconfirmed, but judging from the Fractures Tenrai event— which has a rank cap of 30—it's safe to assume Tactical Ops will have roughly the same amount. Unless, of course, Tactical Ops only runs across one week instead of being spread over multiple weeks.
The special playlist involved is unknown, but Santa Ricky has found game modes with the word "Tactical" used and may collaborate with the Tactical Ops event.
- Tactical: Slayer Stalkers
- Tactical: Slayer Commandos
- Tactical: Slayer Sidekicks
- Tactical: Slayer Manglers
This game mode is to be very much like SWAT. Spartans have no shields, and there are no map weapons available. You will have to collect ammo from fallen comrades and enemies, but with a single shot to the head killing you, running out of ammo may not be an issue.
Remember, take all leaks with a pinch of salt. Tactical Ops is still a ways away, and anything may change with this event. Though the rewards list may be incomplete, we have no idea how long the event will last, and with only Fractures Tenrai for comparison, there is no way of knowing. Halo fans will have to wait longer for more details from official sources or leaks.
