Harvesting Peanuts in Hay Day is not something you do actively. Instead, squirrels do it for you. Peanuts can only be harvested at level 62, and when you reach that level, you need squirrel collectors.
How to get squirrels in Hay Day
In the Shopping Area, you need to buy a Squirrel House from the Animal House section to get Peanuts. The Squirrel House costs 45,000 coins, and each player can only have one. Then, you can purchase Squirrels for 4,000 coins each. Until you level up your Squirrel House, you can only buy two Squirrels. After that, Squirrels will make Peanuts for you if you have a Peanut Bush.
How to get a Peanut Bush in Hay Day
A Peanut Bush costs 1,200 coins and can be harvested twice. There are 1,000 pods per harvest, which your Squirrels will automatically go to harvest. As soon as you've harvested your first 1,000 pods, you'll need a friend to revive it so you can harvest 1,000 more. You can only revive a Peanut Bush once.
The Squirrels will use 300 pods to make one Peanut. You can collect the Peanuts by clicking on the Squirrel House. The distance between the Squirrel Bush and Squirrel House affects how long it takes them to harvest, but it doesn't matter when you're offline.

How much can I sell Peanuts for in Hay Day?
You can get 2,340 coins for 10 Peanuts. A Peanut Bush costs 1,200 coins and yields six Peanuts, but three Peanut Bushes will yield 20 peanuts. Three Peanut bushes will cost you 3,600 coins and will bring in 4,680 coins, which is the only way you can make a profit from making Peanuts. Otherwise, your best bet is to use Peanuts to make Honey Peanuts, Snack Mix, Chocolate Pie, and many of the other products that Peanuts go into.
