Hogwarts Legacy is home to many magical creatures and delightful characters. While many are a joy to discover and encounter, some illicit a different response altogether, which includes the Acromantula, giant Wizard-made spiders. This may leave you wondering if there is a way to disable spiders in Hogwarts Legacy.
Is there an Arachnophobia mode in Hogwarts Legacy?
The answer is no—there is no arachnophobia mode or slider to change the appearance of the Acromantula in Hogwarts Legacy. This means while I find them adorable, other players may find them terrifying, especially those with arachnophobia. This does not mean that such a feature won't be implemented later, though no word has been said on this.
However, players on PC can use mods to change the in-game spiders' appearance. The Arachnophobia Mode mod by norskpl changes the terrifyingly cute models of spiders to harmless-looking blocks. This can go a long way toward reducing your fear at seeing these eight-legged creatures.
Other games, such as Grounded and Evil West, have features to either change a spider's appearance or reduce the number of spiders you encounter. This proves that such a feature would work well, and many fans have requested an arachnophobia mode. If Hogwarts Legacy adds this mode, they could have some fun and name it after Ron Weasley, who is known to dislike spiders.
Can you avoid the spiders in Hogwarts Legacy?
Unfortunately, for arachnophobes, you cannot avoid the spiders in Hogwarts Legacy. These large eight-legged critters will cross your path at some point, so you must prepare for that encounter. The Acromantulas can be found in the Forbidden Forest, making this the most spider-infested location in Hogwarts Legacy.
