Hogwarts Legacy Playstation Exclusive Quest Guide & Summary

Why can't we all have it?

For better or worse, Hogwarts Legacy included an exclusive quest for the Playstation 4 and 5 editions of the game. In it, you'll be given the opportunity to own your own shop, provided you can tame a less-than-friendly spectral squatter. Here's everything you need to know about this quest.

Hogwarts Legacy's Playstation Exclusive Quest - Minding Your Own Buisness

Hogwarts Legacy's exclusive quest is called Minding Your Own Business. It was initially revealed as a short, Hogsmeade quest in which you would be dealing with a haunted shop. That description undersells the horror of the quest a bit, in our opinion. You actually become trapped in the shop during the quest, and tactics of horror-based games are frequently used to produce jump scares like slamming doors, or lights going out. If you are not a fan of dolls, we're sorry. There are mannequin enemies present that are also exclusive to this quest.

If you have the Playstation version of Hogwarts Legacy, the quest will unlock after you've completed Charles Rookwood's Trial. You'll need to talk to Penny, a House-Elf pacing around in the southern portion of Hogsmeade. A grey side quest marker should mark her location once you've unlocked the quest.

Summary of the Hogwarts Legacy Playstation Exclusive Quest (Spoilers)

If you don't have the Playstation Edition of the game, here's a run down for you. Penny will tell you all about this great empty shop for sale, then send you to see the current owner of it (and of Penny, too), Cassandra Mason. Cassandra gives you what sounds like the deal of a lifetime, a whole shop for the low price of 1,500 Galleons. All she asks is that you clean out a trunk in the back containing her deceased husband's old things. She can't bear to touch them herself right now.

After purchasing the shop, you'll go to the back room to check out the trunk, only to find a ladder a la Mad Eye Moody's kidnapping. This time, you're the one who is being kidnapped, however. Once you're trapped, horrific hijinks will ensue as you try to find your captor, a poltergeist named Fastido.

After thirty minutes of dealing with Fastido, his hair-raising maze, his mannequins, and a final monstrous pile of furniture, you'll confront him. Fastido admires your capability, and agrees to release you from the trunk. However, you have to promise to let him out of the trunk twice a month to have a little fun causing havoc at the shop. At night, only, of course.

You'll agree. Once you are free of the trunk, you'll go back and confront the "grieving widow" Cassandra. After coming out on top in a Wizard's duel with her, she'll be arrested by Officer Singer and you'll be given the deed to the shop for good.

Hogwarts Legacy's Playstation Exclusive Quest Rewards

The reward for completing the quest is the shop itself. But don't worry if you are missing out on this, it's not as big of a boost as you think. Mechanically, all you can do at your shop is sell Gear items to Penny for 10% more of what you can usually sell them for. You still can't sell potions, plants, or animal products. You can also choose what to name the shop and if you want to free Penny, but largely these decisions don't have any consequences.
