Mongrels are feral dog enemies which can be found in the Mongrel Lair inside the Forbidden Forest or East of Hogsmeade. This Dueling Feat involves interrupting a charging Mongrel. It is a pretty straightforward process where you need to cast Depulso. Wait and let the Mongrel attack you first. As soon as it runs towards you, cast the spell that will interrupt with his attack. A green tick will appear indicating you've done it right.

If you successfully defeat a Mongrel, you can loot Mongrel Fur from them that is used to brew a powerful potion. The fur from these beasts is used to make the Edurus Potion. You can unlock this potion after completing the Potions Class quest. In the quest, you will be taught to use Ashwinder Egg and Mongrel Fur to make this strong potion that enhances the defensive stats against enemies for some time. Professor Sharp will teach how you can make the Edurus Potion.

You can also buy Mongrel Fur from J. Pippin's Potion in Hogsmeade for 50 Galleons or continue to fight Mongrel enemies to get their fur.
