Hogwarts Legacy takes place in the late 1800s, at the end of the 19th Century. More specifically, it takes place in the 1890s, giving Harry Potter fans a look into the series' past and history. This places it well before Harry Potter steps into Hogwarts and begins the beloved adventures fan love.

This includes Urg the Unclean, a leader in the infamous Goblin Rebellion, though it is Ranrok that is the primary antagonist for the Goblins.
