How to get Nightwing in Injustice 2

Honoring Batman's first son.

Even though Nightwing is featured in the main story of Injustice 2, he is not a playable character. Fortunately, there is a way around this, and it's very similar to Nightwing in the original game.

Players simply need to equip Nightwing's fighting style onto Damien Wayne's Robin character. The best way to achieve this is to use the ability Staff of Grayson for Robin. The Staff of Grayson ability at least includes attacks similar to those used by Nightwing in the first game.

The Staff of Grayson can be unlocked by playing as Robin. It is a random drop but can be much easier to attain if players have Character Gear Drop Bias enabled. Both Ability Slots are occupied by this ability, which changes Robin's moves to use a staff instead of a sword.

Finally, you can change the shaders of Robin's gear to be bluer, but they will always include the "R" symbol. Damien Wayne will still have his issues with Batman in the intros, but it's not a huge deal. It's the closest you can get to Nightwing, which is disappointing since it's not the same as having Dick Grayson.
