Inscryption combines deck-building and horror to create a unique and engaging game. It is split into three acts, and each one has differences. Players may be surprised at the radical changes in Act 1 and Act 2, possibly preferring one over the other. Those who wish to avoid spoilers should finish Acts 1 and 2 before reading on.
After completing Act 2, P03 takes over the world of Inscryption in Act 3. Players will find themselves in a dark factory-like room that feels similar to Leshy's cabin in Act 1. Act 3 plays similar to Act 1 though it does have some differences, which you can see below.

Style
Act 1 and Act 3 have a similar style in which the player is trapped in a single environment. Leshy's cabin was the player's prison in Act 1, whereas Act 3 puts the player in P03's factory. Both Acts will see the player exploring both an in-game world and the environment they are trapped in. Leshy and P03 both talk to the player as they progress and take on different personas. Leshy used masks to represent different NPCs, and P03 simply changed his screen.
Gameplay
The gameplay in Act 3 plays very similar to Act 1, but there are some changes. Some new additions include the board having five lanes rather than four as well as new cards. Instead of the beast cards in Act 1, Act 3 has the player uses robots and machines as their deck.
Losing doesn't have the player restart a whole run but rather sends them back to a checkpoint and responds to the opponents between the checkpoint and where they lost. Players can also retrieve the roadbucks they dropped to make it back to where they were defeated.
One of the biggest changes is the energy system. Players gain one energy each turn to summon cards, making the gameplay loop slower at the beginning of matches.
World
The world in Act 1 and Act 3 are very similar but also different. The player can navigate the in-game world similar to Leshy's game. In Act 3, instead of playing through the woods and following random paths, the player navigates an apocalyptic world mapped out similarly to Act 2. Along the way, they collect cards, encounter opponents, and find items that will help them. Players can also stand up from the table and explore the dark factory to solve puzzles and secrets.
