What are foils – How to get them in Inscryption

Buying cards is addicting.

After defeating Leshy in Act 1 of Inscryption, players may think they have escaped the dark terrors of the cabin. Especially when Act 2 opens and is much brighter and colorful. But sadly, the player is still trapped in this card game and must collect cards to build a strong enough deck. One important change in Act 2 is the addition of card packs.

Players can freely collect cards and build their decks. Throughout Act 2, players will defeat enemies to get these packs or find them hidden throughout the world. Players can also purchase cards and card packs from the Trader in each world—but they will need foils to do so. Foils take the place of teeth from Act 1 and become the currency the players earn.

To get foils, players will need to deal extra damage to their opponent, similar to how they earned teeth. Unlike Act 1, there is no skull the player can pull teeth from in Act 2. So they will need to be creative in how they defeat their opponents to earn foils. Prices for individual cards range, but card packs will always cost five foils.

There is a way players can grind foils in Act 2. If they head to Magnificus' Tower, on the second floor is a training dummy. This opponent is extremely easy to beat as they have no damaging cards and can be challenged repeatedly. Players can skip their turn until they draw their most powerful cards and deal maximum damage, thus earning as many foils as possible.
