How long before you can collect a Hunting Trap in Lost Ark

Patience is a virtue.

Crafting isn’t a big thing in Lost Ark, but gathering resources has a lot of important connections to other parts of the game. Many valuable weekly and guild tasks require the collection of resources, while you need to gather to gain the World Tree Leaves collectibles. As you level-up hunting, the Hunting Trap ability becomes available. Here, we’ll explain how long it takes before you can collect a Hunting Trap in Lost Ark.

How do Lost Ark hunting traps work?

Hunting traps can be laid in specific spots on maps where hunting is a valid gathering skill. Once you’ve acquired the Hunting Trap ability at Hunting level 30, trap spots will be clearly shown on your map. You can only have one trap laid at a time, but it is okay to leave the area and come back to collect it later. To gain the rewards, you need to wait 15 minutes before you collect your Hunting Trap. Once ready, you will have to collect the trap within 45 minutes. You can see how long you have left on the trap (both before it is available and how long until it expires) by clicking the bell icon at the top-left of your screen.

Whether Hunting Traps are a valid method of collecting resources is very much a personal preference. Traps use up a lot more Life Energy (1,000 per trap) than the traditional method (90) and you get a lot less in terms of total resources. Also, Trap Hunting rewards do not count towards quests such as Una’s Tasks. You also get less XP per Life Energy (1.8 versus 2.5). However, they are much less time-consuming—especially if you have other activities you can do in the area while your trap is set.
