The answer is no—you do not have to use Mario in your party. As Mario is no longer a static and required member of your team like Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, you are free to mix and match your favorite characters when creating your party.

There are various members to choose from in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, including iconic Mushroom Kingdom characters and their Rabbid counterparts. With Mario no longer required, you can choose from any character in the cast when building your party.
