How to kill the E.M.M.I in Metroid Dread

I am the Omega.

Metroid Dread is only a few days away from release as October 8 draws ever nearer. In this game, Samus will face all manners of dangerous environments and enemies, but few as deadly as the E.M.M.I. This nigh-indestructible robot will chase Samus throughout the game.

You may be wondering how to kill the E.M.M.I. as Samus normal weapons will not affect this Galactic Federation robot. To kill the E.M.M.I., you will need to power up Samus' arm cannon into the Omega Cannon.

The Omega Cannon is not only a powerful weapon, but it also shifts the player's view to an over-the-shoulder view for Samus and allows them to aim more precisely. It takes a few moments to charge up, so plan your shot accordingly. Once you strike an E.M.M.I. with it, a cutscene will play, and the robot will be destroyed.

Without this power-up, you will be forced to run from this robot. E.M.M.I. stands for Extraplanetary Multiform Mobile Identifier, and it is a relentless machine that stalks Samus once it detects her. It introduces a unique instakill feature that is a first for the Metroid series. If you encounter one, it's best to run away until you can turn the tables with the Omega Cannon.
