Where to find Secret Items in Metroid Dread

Leave no stone unturned.

Metroid Dread marks the return of Samus' 2D adventures. While it may have been 19 years since the last entry in numbered Metroid franchise, the bounty hunter is back and better than ever on the Nintendo Switch. Samus needs to scrounge up as many resources as she can on this harrowing adventure, including several Secret Items, cleverly hidden resources.

Players can identify areas with Secret Items in Metroid Dread by looking at the map. If the map's location is glowing when selected or Samus is exploring it, there is an item hidden in this area. Samus can find some things by shooting until a block breaks, while others will need players to come back after they've unlocked a handful of other abilities.

Metroid Dread being a Metroidvania means players must uncover new abilities as they play, making sure to backtrack after getting more powerful to obtain resources previously unobtainable.

Make sure to keep an eye out for the game's many highlighted areas. If you can't find an item after extensive searching, don't be afraid to move on and come back later on, as you'll be able to come back whenever you like.

Metroid Dread is available now for Nintendo Switch.
