How to restore a deleted Minecraft World

The first way to recover a lost or deleted world on a PC is to check the recycle bin on your desktop. If you manually deleted a world recently, it should still be in your recycling bin. On the other hand, if your world is not in your recycle bin, chances are it's deleted permanently. However, you might be able to restore still by using the next method. To recover a deleted Minecraft world, locate Minecraft saves folder on your PC. You can find the saves folder by accessing the following address in Windows Explorer:

  • \yourusername\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves

If you don't see this folder, you may need to unhide the folder on your PC. To unhide the folder, open your user folder and check the tab that says View above the desktop search address. Next, locate the option to the right that says Hidden options and check it. You can also use the following steps to locate the AppData folder.

  • Hold down both the windows and R key on your keyboard.
  • Copy and paste %appdata% into the tab that will appear.
  •  Locate the .minecraft folder in AppData and find the saves folder.

Once you locate the Minecraft folder in AppData, you must right-click the saves folder. Doing so will open the saves folder properties tab on your desktop, where you can find several options. We recommend restoring your deleted Minecraft world by using the Restore Previous Versions option. You can select the Previous Versions tab option under the folder's properties. Under Previous Versions, you should see a previous version of the Minecraft saves appear shortly after opening the tab. If you have a folder to restore, you can recover your Minecraft world, but if nothing appears in the window, your Minecraft world is gone forever.
