Obtaining shield skins is done by completing the daily Quick Wins. Doing enough of those will fill up the Weekly Prize bar, and you'll unlock a skin once the bar is full. If you're an avid player, it shouldn't be much of an issue for you.

There are a lot of activities to do each time you log into Monopoly GO, and there's a good chance you'll start completing daily tasks like this just by playing the game. There are a bunch of different shield cosmetics to collect, so make sure you stay up to date on the updates and check when the developers add more in. One of my favorites is the black and white Mr. Monopoly for that old-school feel. Sadly, missing a shield in an event means you aren't able to get it anymore unless it comes back around.

How to get more shields in Monopoly GO and what do they do?

If you're not familiar with how Monopoly GO works, then the concept of shields could be foreign to you. Shields will protect your landmarks from Shutdown attacks. Each time you prevent this from happening, you use up a shield.

Running out of shields will mean your landmarks are left exposed. By falling victim to a Shutdown, you'll have another player enter your board and start attacking your landmarks. You'll want to land on more shields to pick more up, which then allows you to defend your landmarks. If that sounds wildly different from the board game you're used to playing, that's because it is. Monopoly GO can get chaotic in a hurry.
