Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak is coming soon to consoles

We're just as surprised as you are.

It's nothing but good news for Monster Hunter fans. The latest entry in the series, Rise, not only came to previous and current-gen Xbox and PlayStation consoles three months ago, but the Sunbreak expansion is hot on its heels. This latest entry in the Monster Hunter series has been enjoying a lengthy lifespan due to its tiered release beginning with Nintendo Switch, then PC with Steam, and now previous and current-gen Xbox and PlayStation consoles.

Current-gen consoles are about to become current with Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak

During Capcom's Showcase this afternoon, the developer and publisher announced that the Sunbreak expansion for Monster Hunter Rise would be coming to previous and current-gen Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The expansion is set to release on April 28, 2023. This should give Capcom fans plenty of time to enjoy the Resident Evil 4 remake and a scant window to hunt monsters before the release of Street Fighter 6.

The Sunbreak expansion features an entirely new hunter's hub, Elgado, and a whole host of new content. Embark on new Master Rank hunts and earn entirely new sets of armor and weapons to take down some of the fiercest creatures in the series. Much like the Nintendo Switch and Steam versions of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, one can expect the free content updates to also roll out, but Capcom has yet to state if they will be immediately available or rolled out at a later date.
