Alchemical Ink is a vital resource in Nightingale, used in a variety of crafting recipes. If you want to make Cards and travel to other Realms, then read on below to learn how to craft Ink in Nightingale.
How to make Alchemical Ink in Nightingale
To craft Alchemical Ink, you'll need to unlock a crafting station called the Simple Mortar Station. You can purchase the recipe for the Simple Mortar Station from the Essence Trader in your Abeyance Realm for 55 Essence Dust. All Essence Traders are marked on your map (M on keyboard) with an icon of a silver ticket (pictured above).
With the crafting recipe unlocked, head back to your estate and place the Mortar Station. You can build it anywhere, but I highly recommend placing it inside to gain positive structure traits. Simple Mortar Stations cost three Lumber and eight Fibre to build.
Interact with your Mortar Station to open the crafting menu, then select Alchemical Ink from the Refinement tab on the left. Alchemical Ink requires one Refined Pigment (also made at the Mortar Station) and one Glass (made at a Smelter) to craft. Click the Ingredient Slots to choose which items you want to use to make your Alchemical Ink; you can also press F to autofill both slots with any acceptable ingredient from your inventory. Then, press the Craft button (or hit the R key) to make Alchemical Ink.
How to use Alchemical Ink in Nightingale
While Alchemical Ink is made at a Mortar Station, you'll need a different crafting station to use it: the Simple Enchanter's Focus. This crafting station is where you'll make Realm Cards, all of which require Ink to create. Like before, you'll need to buy the crafting recipe for the Simple Enchanter's Focus from the Essence Trader for 55 Essence Dust. Then, build the station at your base for one Lumber, two Ingot, and five Glass.
To use your Alchemical Ink, interact with the Simple Enchanter's Focus and select any Realm Card from the Realm Cards tab on the left. In addition to Alchemical Ink, all Realm Cards require at least one Paper to craft. Major Cards like the Antiquarian Card also require varying amounts of Essence Dust. Once you've filled the Ingredient Slots, you can craft your desired Realm Card using your Alchemical Ink.
