The regular way to get resources in Faeworld is from land plants and animals, but you can also get your food and items from water. However, you need to know how to fish in Nightingale so you can exploit the waters.
Nightingale Fishing Guide
To fish in Nightingale, you need a fishing rod after you buy a recipe from an Essence Trader. You can craft a Simple Fishing Rod on a Simple Workbench at your home base, given that you already have it. After you crafted a fishing rod, you can catch a fish by playing a minigame near any body of water.
How to craft fishing rod in Nightingale
To craft a fishing rod, you need to have a Simple Workbench in your base. It is one of the structures you can build right away as long as you have resources. To build Simple Workbench, you need the following ingredients:
- 4x Plant Fibre
- 10x Wood Bundle
Once you have crafted a Simple Workbench, you need to visit an Essence Trader in Abeyance Realm and exchange Essence for a Simple Fishing Rod blueprint. Once you return to your home base, you can craft your Simple Fishing Rod the following way:
- 1x Wood Bundle
- 1x Bones
- 2x Animal Fibre
Now, here's when it gets interesting. You can get Bones quickly from the animals you hunt down, but crafting Animal Fibre is a bit more complicated. You need a Simple Tanning Station, which you can craft from six Sticks and ten Plant Fibres. Once you craft it, put two pieces of Raw Meat into a tanning station to get one Animal Fibre, and repeat the process for another.
How to win fishing minigame in Nightingale
Once you get your fishing rod crafted, assign it to the action key and head to the nearest body of water to try the fishing minigame. When you arrive on the shore, press and hold the Primary Action button to cast the reel into the water. The moment a fish bites your lure, press Primary Action again to start reeling the fish in.
You can see the fish's health as a red bar, and your goal is to exhaust it. There's a line tension bar, too, and you have to keep it as close to the middle as possible by pressing the Primary Action button. The fish will try to snap the line by wiggling, and that's when you stop pressing to ease the tension a bit. It's important to keep your stamina bar in mind because pressing your Primary Action button rapidly depletes it.
