In Nightingale, Mechanical Gears are one of the refined resources required for higher-end crafting. This is an essential resource that you must get to use guns in the game, so here's how to craft Mechanical Gears in Nightingale.
How to unlock the Brazier in Nightingale
Mechanical Gear is a processed material that can be crafted at the Brazier using Ingots in Nightingale. The Brazier building schematic unlocks after you visit the Provisioner Forest Realm and complete the Arm Yourself and Target Practice Quests for Bass Reeves. Finding the Lawman is a Quest provided by Wilhemina Sasse which eventually leads you to Bass Reeves.
Once the schematic is available, open the build menu, and scroll to the Crafting: Refinement section to select the build blueprint. Place it at a suitable spot in your base, and use Ingot (six pieces) and Shaft (three pieces) to build the structure. With the Brazier ready, you can start crafting different materials like Buttons, Blade, Bronze Ingot, Etched Ingot, Hammerhead, Hinge, Ornament, Shaft, Wire, Metal Gears, and more.
How to craft Mechanical Gears in Nightingale
To craft Mechanical Gears at a Brazier you must use Ingots. This material can be obtained by smelting different Ores including Tin, Nickel, Shimmering, and others. To produce a Mechanical Gear you need two pieces of Ore. Make sure to ignite the Brazier using Sticks and Plant Fibers to start the crafting process.
Raw Gems and Ores like Quartz, Copper, Shimmering, Emerald, Diamond, Amber, and Tin are easy to come across in the realms. I recommend harvesting these resources in bulk and storing them at your base as you'll need them for most of the advanced crafting. Mechanical Gears are required for various building and crafting upgrades (one of the major ones is the Refined Workbench that allows you to make guns).
