Nintendo announced Nintendo Switch Sports at the February 2022 Nintendo Direct. The game has a release date of April 28, 2022, and will include six sports at launch. Bad Minton, Bowling, Chambara, Soccer, Tennis, and Volleyball will be available for local and online players.
Bad Minton
In Bad Minton, players will volley a birdy back and forth over a net, attempting to score points against their opponents.
Bowling
Players will throw a bowling ball down a lane in an attempt to knock down a set of 10 pins while avoiding the gutters bordering the lane.
Chambara
In Chambara, players will use motion controls and attempt to knock opponents off of a platform using their stick.
Soccer
Players will play the traditional game of soccer with an oversized ball, attempting to score the ball in the opposing team's goal.
Tennis
Tennis is a returning sport and was a fan favorite in Wii Sports. Players will hit a tennis ball back and forth while trying to score points against the opposing team.
Volleyball
Players will use motion controls to hit a volleyball back and forth over the central net in an attempt to score points against the other player.
Coming soon: Golf
Nintendo announced plans to add golf to Nintendo Switch Sports, though it will not be available at launch. Gold is slated to join the lineup of sports in the fall of 2022.
