How to complete Useless Fruit in Octopath Traveler 2

It's not so useless now, we think.

Useless Fruit is an Octopath Traveler 2 side story that you can pick up in Wellgrove. It’s from a young man looking for ways to better use the irises he has. Here’s where to find the information that you need.

The info you’re looking for can be found from the Knowledgeable Villager in Cropdale (Agnea’s village). You can find her all day at the spot shown in the image above. You can use any of the following Path Actions to get the info:

  • Scrutinize (Osvald)
  • Coerce (Temenos)
  • Bribe (Hikari)
  • Inquire (Castti)

You can use any character, depending on your party’s current level. We personally recommend Inquire or Scrutinize, so you don’t have to risk anything.

Cropdale is a treasure trove of information, so be sure to speak with the locals to see if any of them are holding onto quest-related info. For example, the Grape Expert in the Tavern’s mastery over the fruit is needed for Goading the Grapes in Conning Creek.

Octopath Traveler 2 is a role-playing game in the most traditional of senses, complete with turn-based battles and side quests. It’ll rarely tell you how to resolve the latter, so it’s up to you to find solutions. Always bring someone with one of three essential Path Actions with you at a time (info gathering, knocking someone out, and item retrieval) to make sure that you can take all that you need to complete your side stories.
