Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 delayed by Activision-Blizzard

Multiple Blizzard setbacks.

Activision-Blizzard is responsible for some of the most influential titles released in video games. From their massive shooter franchise, Call of Duty, to their beloved team-shooter property, Overwatch, the company has a significant stake in popular video game releases.

On Nov. 2, 2021, Activision-Blizzard released a statement regarding two of their highly-anticipated upcoming titles, Diablo IV and Overwatch 2. Citing a need to focus on more development time, the team at Activision-Blizzard specifically pointed out these two titles as needing more time "than originally envisaged." Despite two of their biggest titles getting delayed, Activision-Blizzard says these choices are "the right course of action for our people, our players, and the long-term success of our franchises."

This news was one of several shakeups Activision-Blizzard saw this week. One of two co-leaders of Blizzard, Jen Oneal, stated that she's stepping down from the company, leaving just one company head left after the mass exodus earlier this year. Mike Ybarra is the only leader currently helming the company.
