One of the key components for everything from furniture to tools are stone and metals, which are obtained by leveling up your Mining skills. Of course, some are easier to find than others. If you’re looking for silver in Palia, read on to discover the best locations to find it.

Where to find Silver Ores in Palia

I think the real question here is actually what, not where, to find Silver Ore in Palia. Silver Ore is an uncommon resource that can be found when mining Copper (brown-tinged) nodes. These can be found all across the Kilima Valley map, and you can mine them from level one using just your initial Makeshift Pick.

However, what complicates the process is that you will only get silver Ore as a random and occasional bonus resource when mining medium (15 percent chance) and large (25 percent chance) Copper nodes (never from small ones).

What to do with Silver Ore in Palia?

Bronze is an essential resource you’ll find you need a lot so you can never have too much of it. Silver Ore is much more rarely required, currently only being used to make Silver Bars and as a part of the Backbone to the Community quest and a couple of accomplishments (Mining Nodes, My First Silver Bar, and Every Mineral is Mine).

You can buy the Silver Bar recipe from NPC Hodari for 250 Gold once you have reached level four in Mining (remember he also roams in Bahari Bay if you can’t find him). Silver bars are used in the process of making most mirrors in the game in furniture making, as well as for the Ore Compass.

It is also a good item for selling, with Silver Ore fetching 18 Gold per piece and Silver Bars 255 Gold. However, note that Silver Bars take three hours each (using five silver each) to make in a Basic smelter, but the price increase by doing so makes it worthwhile. I try to remember to set them up before I log out so that they’re ready for me the next time I play.

How to tell the size of Bronze Ore Nodes (for getting Silver) in Palia

Apart from visually (which isn’t always obvious), you can tell the size of the node by the number of times you need to hit it before it breaks. For example, using a Standard PIck:

  • Small Copper Node: Three or four hits
  • Medium Copper Node (left, above): Four hits
  • Large Copper Node (right, above): Six hits

Small nodes are the most common, medium nodes are also pretty common, while large nodes are quite rare.

My Palia Silver Ore run (with map)

As mentioned above, Silver Ore is found only in medium and large Copper nodes and these spawn randomly all across the Kilima Valley map. I’ve drawn a map above of a good run you can make around the area that covers the main areas you’ll want to search.

Just bear in mind that ore is a shared resource across your server, so if someone else has done a sweep just ahead of you, you’re going to need to be patient and come back or modify your search pattern to get ahead of them.

  1. Starting after leaving the housing Plot, circle around Chappa Crossing.
  2. Head a little south and circle around the hill west of Whispering Banks.
  3. Follow the path west from there through the valley towards Kilima Village.
  4. Go around the Mayor’s Estate.
  5. Go around the Remembrance Garden.
  6. Head west and around the hill there, then along the east side of the cliff to the north.
  7. Go around and over Leaftopper Hills.
  8. Head east over the river and across the northern edge of the village.
  9. Follow the cliff edge that runs east of Phoenix Falls to the Housing Plot entrance.

There are some other areas where you can find Bronze Nodes across the Kilima Valley map, such as along the cliffs that run west from Leafhopper Hills north of the farm, south of Whispering Banks, and the cliffs around the edge of Maji’s Hollow, but I don’t tend to find the yield is worth the extra running around. Your mileage may vary!
