Payday 3 Vault Codes, Explained

What's the password?

In Payday 3, you'll encounter various vaults or safes that may be part of your main objective or an optional secondary objective. The contents of these safes and vaults often contain valuables, allowing you to buy out the in-game shop's wares with ease. Opening these vaults will typically require a code of sorts that must be correctly entered, but finding out the code is easier said than done. Here's how to deal with vault codes in Payday 3.

What are Vault Codes in Payday 3?

Almost every level in Payday 3 contains at least one vault that requires a code to be opened. While I'd love to simply list out all the codes for every single vault, this is impossible due to the mechanics of Payday 3. Each time you come across a vault in a mission, the code for it is randomly generated. Missions in Payday 3 are also randomly generated to a degree, meaning that even the method of obtaining the code could be different each time you load a level.

Fortunately, the randomly generated code for these vaults is always obtainable at the level the vault is found in. You'll need to search computers and cellphones scattered around a level to find it, but rest assured that they are present. There may also be hints as to what a code to a vault may be that you'll need to decipher at times. I recall one particular vault code my group found that ended up being a worker's employee of the month number, plastered in the showroom of a storm for everyone to see. Sometimes you may even need to take someone hostage and throw them in front of a scanner to gain access to the code you're looking for.
