Update: In a recent Q&A from Kinetic Games, they are changing how Beta updates are being done. With this restructure in mind, they want to enable future updates to be able to be played by everyone at the same time—so everyone can get the best experience.
The extremely horrifying Phasmophobia is still making waves, as Kinetic Games are pumping out update after update to the ghost hunting game. If you thought the game couldn't get any more terrifying, well, you were wrong!
To play the Phasmophobia Beta build, it's actually quite easy; however, it gets more complicated if you want to play with friends. All you have to do is Opt-In to the Beta, and the Beta patch will automatically download.
To Opt-In to the Beta is straightforward. Log into Steam, and head to your Libary. Right-click Phasmophobia, and in the new Menu that appears, click on Properties. A new window will appear. Look to the left of this window, and there will be five menus to choose from. You want to click on the Betas Menu.
On this new menu, under where it says Select the beta you would like to opt into. Click on the drop-down box, and then select Beta - Unstable Build. Then press the X to close down the window. You haven't got to confirm anything, it will save your Opt-In choice, and the beta patch download will begin to download.
After the patch has fully downloaded, just start the game like normal, and you will be playing the beta patch build for Phasmophobia. However, if you want to play with friends, all of your friends need to Opt-In and download this beta patch. If not, you will not be able to join each other due to incompatible versions.
At this present moment, the beta patch has a plethora of added features, which includes a smarter Ghost AI. If you want to know everything that has been added to the beta build, then we have you covered; check out here: Phasmophobia Patch Notes)
