How to use the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia – What does it do?

Mirror, mirror on the wall, who will be the first to fall?

The Haunted Mirror is a fairly straightforward cursed possession in Phasmophobia. It allows players to look into it to identify which room the ghost is in.

The Mirror has a set number of spawns for each map that coincide with where other cursed possessions will spawn. The Mirror is often overturned or on the floor, making it easy to mistake as a fallen picture frame.

How It Works

When picking up the Mirror, players may use it as an item with the Use Key and look into it. While in hand, the Mirror glows and begins to show the holder glimpses of the ghost room. It does not work outside of the house and will stop glowing if players exit the contract's residence. Because of how similar rooms can be in Phasmophobia, making the distinction between rooms can be difficult but it will effectively narrow things down.

While a player holds the Mirror it will quickly drain the user of their sanity. If the player reaches zero sanity, the Mirror will break and cause a Cursed Hunt. The mirror is visibly broken in front of the user peering through it and other players will be able to hear the sound of glass shattering.
