How many Pokémon are in the PokéDex in Pokémon Legends: Arceus?

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is the latest entry in the mainline game in the Pokémon franchise. As with all other games in the franchise's main line of titles, players must complete a regional PokéDex on their adventure, but how many monsters can players expect to find on their journey through the Hisui region?

There are 242 Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Arceus's PokéDex, including Mythical and Legendary Pokémon. Those aiming to finish the game's main objective of crafting the world's first PokéDex will have to track down all non-mythical creatures before they can see the game's true ending. The PokéDex functions differently in Pokémon Legends: Arceus than in previous franchise iterations. Players must complete a series of Research Tasks for each Pokémon for Professor Laventon before completing a PokéDex entry.
