All Copperajah weaknesses and Best Counters in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

This elephant is slow but deadly!

Copperajah is a Pure Steel Type Pokémon with a high HP and Attack stat in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. It uses high Base Power moves to deal a lot of damage if it gets the chance but is very slow in terms of Speed. Moving Copperajah is no issue, but taking it down in one hit can prove difficult because of its Typing. These are Copperajah's weaknesses and resistances, and which Pokémon best counter them in Scarlet & Violet.

What is Copperajah weak to in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

As a Pure Steel Type, Copperajah is quite strong and only has three weaknesses. It has equal Defense and Special Defense so both Physical and Special moves will do the same damage. It is weak to:

  • Fighting - 2x
  • Ground - 2x
  • Fire - 2x

These types are fairly common and the TM for Low Kick can be taught to many Pokémon. Because Copperajah is so heavy, it will deal a large amount of damage and if it has its Hidden Ability, Heavy Metal, it will also increase its weight so that Low Kick does more damage.

What is Copperajah immune to in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Poison moves will have no effect on Copperajah or any Steel Type Pokémon.

What is Copperajah strong against in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Copperajah's Pure Steel Typing makes it able to take reduced damage from 10 Types. It can do a lot of damage with its moves because of its Ability Sheer Force. This also removes the recoil from the Life Orb Item, giving any Copperajah that holds it a 30% boost in damage with no downsides. These are all of their resistances:

  • Steel - 1/2
  • Grass - 1/2
  • Rock - 1/2
  • Bug - 1/2
  • Flying - 1/2
  • Psychic - 1/2
  • Ice - 1/2
  • Normal - 1/2
  • Dragon - 1/2
  • Fairy - 1/2

Steel is the best defensive Typing in the game and fleshes out many teams that need a Pokémon to switch into attacks for its allies. The Fairy Type and it's weaknesses make Steel Pokémon like Copperajah valuable to keep safe as they cover each other's weaknesses well. Steel resists the Steel moves that can hit Fairy for super effective damage while Fairy resists the Fire moves that can hit Steel Types.

What are the best counters to Copperajah in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Skeledirge, Garchomp, and Hippowdon are the best Copperajah counters. All three of these Pokémon have access to moves that deal super effective damage and have high Defense to mitigate any damage Copperajah deals in return. Skeledirge, in particular, can make use of Torch Song to deal damage and increase its Special Attack in the same turn to guarantee taking out Copperajah in at least two turns.
