They are also strong defensively and will take reduced damage from:

  • Fire - 1/2

Most Fairy Pokémon can also learn Grass and Psychic moves, giving them the ability to counter Poison that they are weak to, as well as RockGround, and Water Pokémon. Both Dragon and Fighting Type Pokémon will learn moves that counter Fairy Pokémon, so players should keep that in mind when facing Pokémon like Hydreigon or Hariyama.

What are the best counters to Fairy Types in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

Kingambit and Gholdengo are great counters to Fairy Types because they resist Fairy Type attacks and many of the moves that Fairy Types learn. Kingambit will take normal damage from Fairy moves, but it also resists the Grass moves that Fairy Type Pokémon usually learn. It also is immune to Psychic moves they tend to learn while being able to deal tons of damage with its Steel moves.
