All map icons & what they mean in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Never get lost again.

Maps can be overwhelming by themselves, but Pokémon Scarlet and Violet decided to dump every kind of quest, side quest, and plot point at you in the beginning of the game. As a result, you have a ton of icons and you don’t know what most of them mean. But don’t worry, we’re here to help! Below is every map icon you can encounter in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet and what they mean.

Overworld icons in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

IconLocation
Pokémon Center
You can rest your Pokémon, buy items, and craft TMs at these locations. If it has a wing icon (Flying Taxi) at its bottom right, you've visited it before and can fast travel to it.
Flying Taxi
You can fast travel to the pinpointed location, even if it doesn't have a Pokémon Center.
Gym Leader
Victory Road destinations will have their icons outlined in Red.
Team Star Leader
Starfall Street destinations will have their icons outlined in Blue.
Titan Pokémon
Path of Legends destinations will have their icons outlined in Green.
Mass Outbreak
This means there are hoards of these Pokémon nearby. The Pokemon can't always be found in that specific spot, but they're sure to be in the general area.
Mass Outbreak (Unknown)
This means that there is a mass outbreak for a Pokémon you've never encountered yet.
Tera Raid Crystal
A Tera Raid Crystal of the type indicated can be found in that spot. Tera Raid spots will have star icons.
