Best nature for Bellsprout, Weepingbell, and Victreebel in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Somewhere, the sages of Sprout Tower are smiling.

Plenty of Bellsprout call the Apple Hills of Kitakami home. This should be good news, since that means trainers can get plenty of encounters and search for a Bellsprout with the perfect nature. Its final evolution, Victreebel, can be a very potent sweeper and useful addition to your party. Here are the best natures for the Bellsprout evolution line in the Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Which are the best natures for Bellsprout, Weepingbell, and Victreebel in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?

The best natures for Bellsprout, Weepingbell, and Victreebel in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet are as follows:

  • Jolly (+ Speed, -Sp. Atk)
  • Adamant (+ Attack, - Sp. Atk)
  • Modest (+ Sp. Atk, - Attack)

Victreebel is a unique Pokémon that has a wide movepool of Special attacks but a higher Attack stat. This is why Victreebel is built very differently on a Sun team, as opposed to non-competitive use in-game.

Without Sun support, the best thing to do with Victreebel is to use Growth to boost its Physical Attack. Victreebel can hit pretty hard with Sucker Punch, Leaf Blade, and Knock Off. It also gets Trailblaze to boost its Speed.

Victreebel can use the extra power from Adamant to beat walls like Amoongus or Slowbro. Without Growth, players might want to use Jolly on Victreebel to make sure it outspeeds other Pokémon in the middle-Speed tier.

That being said, I highly recommend just using Victreebel on a Sun team. This allows Victreebel to use the Chlorophyll ability, doubling its Speed in sunny weather. Since it will be so fast, trainers can afford to run Modest on it instead of a Speed-boosting nature. Toss in a Life Orb and Weather Ball, and Victreebel becomes an amazing Special sweeper.

How to choose natures in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

When choosing natures, it really comes down to what the Pokémon is going to be used for on your specific team. This is why Pokémon like Victreebel have several options, because their build can vary depending on the party they belong to.

For offensive Pokémon, trainers should always ask whether they need Speed. For fast Pokémon like Chien Pao and Dragapult, the answer is almost always yes. There are other Pokémon like Iron Hands or Kingambit, though, who are slower and should prioritize their Attack stats.
