Pokémon Scarlet and Violet attempts to change up the traditional Pokémon formula in several ways. Its world is fully open for you to explore shorty after visiting your school for the first time. It also features a new way to let your Pokémon explore with you via the Let's Go mode. Here's how to use it in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
How to use Let's Go mode in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
To use Let's Go mode in the open world, press the R button. This will send the top Pokémon on your active party list into the open world. From there, they will walk along beside you, pick up items nearby, and challenge other wild Pokémon. Battles will be completed automatically based on the level and types of the opposing Pokémon. There will always be less EXP gained by fighting in this method since it is shorter, but you will also be guaranteed to gain crafting components after each battle, making it an effective way to farm them.

There a a few important things to note about this game mode. Using Let's Go can be required to evolve certain new Pokémon, such as Pawmo. Also, If you're worried about accidentally missing an opportunity to catch a shiny Pokémon, don't be. If your Pokémon encounters a shiny Pokémon in the field, it will shake its head and refuse to fight. Let's Go mode can actually an effective method of detecting shiny Pokémon in the wild when they can be hard to spot.
