How to get Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

While there are over 900 Pokémon to choose from, some have stood out against all the others. One Pokémon that is a fan favorite is Charizard, the Fire, and Flying-type dragon Pokémon. Those who adore the Charmander line may wonder if Charizard will be in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and how to catch it.

Is Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

While not normally a part of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Pokédex, players can catch the iconic Pokémon. The only method to catch Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a special, limited-time Black Crystal Terra Raid Battle. These will be available post-launch on Dec. 1, 2022, through Dec. 4, 2022, and Dec. 15, 2022, through Dec. 18, 2022.

In addition to being a rare encounter, this Charizard will also feature many special aspects. It will have the Dragon Terra Type, the Mightiest Mark, the Charizard the Unrivaled title. This will be the only way to get Charizard in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, at least for now, so make sure you play the game and participate in the required Terra Raid Battle.

Charizard may be available through other means in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but there is no guarantee. So those who wish to add the fan-favorite Pokémon to their team will need to be ready. Join the Terra Raid Battle at special Black Crystals and capture this special Charizard in December of 2022.
