Best Nature for Starly, Staravia, and Staraptor in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

An early game treasure.

Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have a variety of stat modifiers known as Natures. Each Nature tweaks how a Pokémon's stats progress and finding the perfect Nature for partner Pokémon is essential for those aiming to build the strongest team. Here, we focus on the Natures to help cultivate the best Normal/Flying hybrid with the Starly evolution line.

Recommended Videos

We've listed the best Natures for Starly, Staravia, and Staraptor below:

  • Adamant (+Attack, -Special Attack)
  • Jolly (+Speed, -Special Attack)
  • Naive (+Speed, -Special Defense)
  • Naughty (+Attack, -Special Defense)

Starly, Staravia, and Staraptor are all incredibly fast Pokémon. They're excellent for blitzing your opponents, and their balance between Attack and Speed makes them extremely viable Physical Attackers. Because Starly, Staravia, and Staraptor are geared for Physical Attacks and have a very high base Speed stat, many players often opt for an Adamant Nature to further bolster the power of Physical Attacks.

We recommend grabbing an Adamant Starly, Staravia, or Staraptor during your playthrough, as this Nature is devastating against enemy Pokémon. Choosing a Nature that improves Speed is also a reasonable choice, so long as it isn't Timid. Timid Nature lowers Attack power, the stat these three Pokémon need the most.
