Whiscash is currently available in Raids in Pokémon Go. Whiscash's shiny form made its debut in the game several months ago, and while a successful Raid can result in a Whiscash with a good IV, it can't actually be shiny when encountered. The only way to get ahold of a shiny Whiscash is to first catch the shiny form of its pre-evolution, Barboach.
How to catch a shiny Barboach in Pokémon Go
Currently, the only way to get a shiny Whiscash in your Pokédex is to first catch a shiny Barboach and evolve it. Barboach is not currently in the rotation for any level of Egg hatches and can only be obtained by catching it in the wild. The Pokémon has between a 1 and 450 and 1 in 500 chance of being shiny when encountered this way.
Barboach isn't spotted often unless there is an event that makes their spawn rate more prevalent, but fans hoping to catch this color variant will have the best luck hunting near bodies of water. Most Water-type Pokémon have a higher likelihood of spawning near real-world bodies of water, and this is especially true for Barboach. Once it has been caught, the shiny Barboach will evolve into Whishcash with 50 Barboach Candies.
