Niantic has released details about Pokémon GO's February Community Day event. This time around, the Pokémon getting the Spotlight is the elusive Noibat. This Pokémon is extremely difficult to come by in the wild unless players are out and about after the sun goes down. This Community Day is already getting good reception from fans due to Noibat's popularity in the game.

Noibat, the Sound Wave Pokémon, will be the featured Pokémon for February's Community Day. Noibat's shiny form is one of the most sought-after in the series due to its distinct color change. The shiny variant takes Noibat's purple color and goes to a greenish-blue palette. The image above shows players what to keep and eye out for and look forward to during this Community Day.

If players evolve a Noibat into Noivern during the event, and up to five hours after, the Pokémon will learn the Normal-type move Boomburst. This move is a powerful one, dealing 150 Power in Trainer Battles and 140 Power in Gyms and Raids.

Event Bonuses

There are a few different event bonuses for players to take advantage of during this event. The full list can be found below.

  • Triple Stardust for catching Pokémon.
  • Double Candy for catching Pokémon.
  • Double the chance to get XL Candy.
  • Incense started during the event will last for three hours.
  • Lure Modules started during the event will last for three hours.
  • Trades made during the event's hours (and up to five hours after) will cost 50% less Stardust.
  • An additional Special Trade can be made for the event.

Other Community Day Features

This Community Day, like most of them recently, will feature an after-event Raid celebration. Blue Raid Eggs can be found at most gyms, and players can take on additional Noibat in combat to try to get even more shinies.

Players can also purchase an Event Ticket for $1.00 USD (or the equivalent in their local currency). The Ticket will give access to a few Special Research Tasks and additional Noibat encounters. This has become standard for most Community Day events and is only really worth it if players want extra encounters of the featured Pokémon.
