Giovanni has come back to cause trouble in Pokémon Go, and he has brought with him some of the strongest Pokémon and perhaps the toughest non-PvP battle in the game. One of his newer Pokémon this time around is the Drill Pokémon: Nidoking!

Nidoking
- Type: Poison, Ground
- Weak Against: Ground, Ice, Psychic, Water
- Strong Against: Electric, Poison, Bug, Fairy, Fighting, Rock
- Notes
- Water Pokémon are the best to use against Nidoking since they aren't weak against or vulnerable to any of Giovanni's other Pokémon except for Kingler. Since you're fighting Nidoking, though, you definitely will not go against Kingler.
- Ice is also a good option against Nidoking because it is effective against Lugia, Giovanni's strongest Pokémon.
Counters
Because Mega Pokémon are rarely used, we opted not to include them in the list of the best counters.
