How-to Evolve Linoone into Obstagoon in Sword & Shield

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

We're taking a quick look at what you need to do to evolve Linoon into Obstagoon in Pokemon Sword and Shield! This is another one of these weirder evolutions that require specific circumstances to be able to evolve them into their final form! The Zigzagoon family has a great looking Galarian Form, which makes it a popular Pokemon. You can also get a pretty sweet candy cane looking version if you hunt for the shiny version!

Where-to Find Zigzagoon or Linoone

You'll be hard pressed not to find yourself tripping over a Zigzagoon frolicking through the grasses in the Overworld in various areas of Galar. If you're looking for exact locations, they can be found in: Route 2, Route 3, Bridge Field, Giant's Cap, Stony Wilderness, and Max Raid Battles in Bridge Field, Dusty Bowl, Giant's Mirror, Motostoke Riverbank, Stony Wilderness, and West Lake Axewell. If you find one, you'll nee to bring it to level 20 to evolve it into Linoone.

If you want to just go straight to Linoone and skip the Zigzagoon phase then that is also an option! You'll find these as a strong spawn in the Wild Area, or you can go directly to Giant's Cap. They also appear as Max Raid Battles in Bridge Field, Dusty Bowl, Giant's Mirror, Motostoke Riverbank, Stony Wilderness, West Lake Axewell.

How-to Evolve Linoone

Once you get your Linoone, you will need to raise it to at least level 35! This can be done with Rare Candy or Exp. Candies or any other method you can use to level them up. Once you've done that, you will need to then level it up at night time in game. If you don't want to wait for actual night wherever you live, you can change the time settings of your Nintendo Switch. To do this you can go to System Settings > System > Date and Time. Uncheck the option to Synchronize the Clock via Internet and then set it to 9pm or anything after 7pm pretty much. This is also a good way to change the weather in the game. That's all you need to do, once you have it at night you just level up your Linoon and it will change into Obstagoon!
