In Chapter 3: Deep Sleep of Poppy Playtime, you'll continue your journey alongside Huggy Wuggy and Kissy Missy, but you'll also be introduced to some new terrifying faces that reside in the Playcare Orphanage: The Smiling Critters.

CatNap

CatNap is the main character you'll face in Chapter 3 and one that players were most anticipating. Also known as Experiment 1188, CatNap was a part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative and really shows it, with large stretch limbs and a hunched frame that towers over you. CatNap is equipped with a version of Poppy's Gas in their respiratory system, and despite being non-lethal, causes horrible hallucinations.

He was originally created to serve as a caretaker for Playcare, caring deeply for all the other critters and ensuring they always got the proper rest. However, his goals become more blurred when he uses his gas on the critters, leading to their dark twist and eventual insanity and begins to devotedly follow The Prototype.

DogDay

DogDay is meant to be the bright and optimist leader of the Smiling Critters. He wears a sun pendant around his neck, representing his radiating personality, always ensuring his friends are happy and staying positive. DogDay is speculated to be another critter used in an experiment for the Bigger Bodies Initiative, as his body, shown in-game, is stretched and falling apart.

Despite going along with CatNap and chasing you during the game, he appears to be at odds with CatNap's belief in The Prototype and seems to be trying to fight the insanity that has taken over him.

Huggy Wuggy

Huggy Wuggy is an iconic character from previous chapters of the game, but he reappears in Chapter 3 with a surprising new look. Huggy Wuggy is considered one of the more successful models of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, which explains his long, stretched limbs. This nightmarish version of him in Chapter 3 is speculated to be caused by CatNap's Poppy Gas hallucinations or a failed model.

Bubba Bubbaphant

Bubba Bubbaphant is a frightening representation of an elephant with large black beady eyes and the Smiling Critters' usual black gaping mouth. He sports a lightbulb pendant around his neck, which symbolizes his role in the group.

He is known as the group's brains, enjoying math equations and always showing off his intelligence to the group. Some could put the blame on him for the Smiling Critter's demise due to the fact he was the one who suggested CatNap use their gas to rid them of their fear, causing them all to pass out after laughing hysterically.

Bobby Bearhug

Bobby Bearhug is a red bear with light patches on the ears, nose, limbs, and stomach. Her color matches the red heart pendant around her neck, representing just how big of a heart she has.

She is known as the compassionate and loving critter of the group, constantly worrying about the welfare of those around her. She loves deeply and, in turn, feels fulfilled by doing so. However, her compassion makes her naive, allowing others to take advantage of her. She most likely followed the others into the darkness willingly due to that naivety.

CraftyCorn

CraftyCorn is a white and blue unicorn, as made obvious by the small horn on her forehead. She sports a rainbow-colored flower pendant around her neck.

She is known as the artsy critter of the group, loving all aspects of art, especially anything with lots of color. Although she appears passionate and creative, she is the most shy among the others and is quickly overshadowed by them, as we can see when Bubba tears away the picture she has drawn to reveal his own math equations.

Hoppy Hopscotch

Hoppy Hopscotch is a bright green bunny critter with the same beady eyes and gaping smile as the rest. Her pendant is a lightning bolt, representing her personality perfectly.

She is known as the high-energy and enthusiastic critter of the group, always on the go and excited about any physical activity like sports. However, her energy is also her downside, being impatient and bossy sometimes. She always ensures her friends hurry up their business and get the job done.

KickinChicken

KickinChicken is depicted as a chicken, although more accurately as a chic, as shown by his yellow and orange colors. He wears a reddish star pendant around his neck, which perfectly defines his character as a wannabe star.

He is meant to be the 'cool dude' of the group, always appearing laid back and calm no matter the circumstance. He cares about his appearance more than anything else, valuing people's perception of him and acting up to get attention. However, this attitude also makes him extremely resistant, and he refuses to give up no matter what he faces, which could be bad news for you.

PickyPiggy

PickyPiggy is one of the more ironic critters of the bunch, depicted as a pig with pink colors and, of course, the same beady eyes and gaping mouth. Funnily enough, she wears an apple pendant around her neck, representing her value of healthy eating.

PickyPiggy is the healthy eater of the group and is all about eating a fresh and well-balanced diet. She encourages her friends to stay strong and healthy but secretly enjoys eating her own favorite foods when no one is looking, like cheeseburgers and PB&J's, making her a bit of a hypocrite.

Miss Delight

Image by Pro Game Guides via Poppy Playtime Official Wiki

Miss Delight is one of the only characters in Chapter 3 who is seemingly made to look human, although certainly malfunctioning and disturbed like the others. She roams the Playcare Orphanage, lurking in the dark and only moving when the lights flicker and flash.

Players won't get a good look at her in the dark, but she sports a polka-dot skirt that appears to be ripped, has blonde curled hair with a bow, and, more noticeably, has a frightening injury across her face. This injury appears to have left her face looking more skeletal, with skin falling away from her nose and mouth and curving her mouth in a wicked grin.

These are all the characters you'll find in Chapter 3: Deep Sleep. Jump into the game to witness their terrifying features and unravel their backstory for yourself. Who are you most nervous to encounter?
