How to siphon gas in Project Zomboid

Get free gas!

To get gas in Project Zomboid, players will need to have a gas can equipped or in their inventory. If a player has a gas can, all they need to do to get gas is to walk up to a car and press v. Pressing v next to a car will open a wheel menu, and if the vehicle has gas inside of it, there will be an option to siphon gas into their gas can.

Players can also get gas by visiting gas stations to either fill their gas cans or their vehicles if they are working. But, if players already have a working vehicle, all they need to do is drive up next to the pump and use it to fill their car full of gas.

Where to find gas cans in Project Zomboid

To find gas cans in Project Zomboid, players will need to search specific locations such as garages for the cans. Gas stations will also have a chance for gas cans to spawn as loot and certain storage units.

If you have trouble with finding certain locations, such as gas stations, we recommend using the official online map. This map can help you locate gas stations in one of the four starting locations along with other locations.
