How to sleep in Project Zomboid

Good night!

To sleep in Project Zomboid, players need to find an object they can sleep on when tired, such as a bed or couch. You can find beds in various locations in the game, such as homes, fire stations, and even Police stations.

You also don't have to rely on a comfy bed for sleep and can sleep on the ground or benches if you are exhausted. However, doing so will give your character a poor sleep experience that will negatively affect your character.

For example, if you were to sleep on a bench, your player would get a high chance of getting the pain moodle from sleeping on a hard surface. The amount of rest you will get from sleeping on a hard surface would also be terrible.

Because of this, it's better to go for at least average sleep objects in the game like couches and beds. We recommend holding your cursor over an object if you want to know what's an excellent object to sleep on.

Holding your cursor over an object will display a sleep quality tag, as shown above. Use this tag to determine what object is the best to use when you are tired in Project Zomboid.

Why do you need to sleep in Project Zomboid?

Players need to sleep to get rid of the tired moodles they gain as time passes in the game. These tired moodles will also decrease the player's ability to fight and use weapons.

Because of this it's always a good idea to rest and sleep whenever possible when your character gains one of the tired moodles.

How to sleep while in Pain in Project Zomboid?

To sleep while in Pain in Project Zomboid, players will need to either use pain killers to lower their current pain level or find and use sleeping pills.

Sleeping pills are the best way to sleep while in pain as they will instantly allow players to sleep, bypassing the affects of the pain moodle. That said, you can find both pain killers and sleeping pills in medicine cabinets, hospitals, clinics, desks in the game.
